Nene Valley Diagnostics works with named consultant cardiologists who are recognised by major UK insurers. Insured patients may have echocardiograms performed at Nene Valley Diagnostics when referred by these partner consultants.
Important: Nene Valley Diagnostics is not a general insurance clinic. Standard access to our services is through self-referral. Insured access is available only via our partner consultant cardiologists.
If you have private health insurance and wish to use it for your echocardiogram, please discuss with your consultant cardiologist whether they can refer you to Nene Valley Diagnostics. Your consultant will need to be one of our partner consultants recognised by your insurer.

Your consultant cardiologist (who must be one of our partner consultants) refers you to Nene Valley Diagnostics for your echocardiogram.
Your consultant arranges insurance authorisation for the echocardiogram at Nene Valley Diagnostics, if required by your insurer.
Your echocardiogram is performed at Northampton General Hospital using Philips EPIQ systems.
The detailed report is sent to your consultant cardiologist, who will discuss the results with you and arrange any necessary follow-up.
If you don't have insurance or prefer to self-refer, you can book your echocardiogram directly with Nene Valley Diagnostics without a consultant referral.
